Francis Davis is Co-Director of the Centre For Faith In Society
Francis Davis is co-author of Moral, But No Compass: Church, Government and the Future of Welfare (2008) and lectures strategy, entrepreneurship and social purpose on the Judge Business School/Institute of Education graduate programme in social enterprise and community development. Francis is a graduate of the universities of Durham, Southampton and London (SOAS). Francis has served on several government and industry commissions and working parties on the future of social enterprise, manufacturing and competitiveness, and served as Chair of an award-winning social enterprise in the health and social care sector from 2004-07. He is on the Board of Judges for the Erste Stiftung Prize for Social Cohesion in SE Europe and has published on social enterprise, EU social policy , migration and governance in religious organisations. In 2008 he gave the Ronald Preston memorial lecture at the University of Manchester. His forthcoming Faith And Globalisation includes essays by Cardinal Turkson and HE Francis Campbell. When not in Cambridge he lives in an inner city neghbourhood with several Mosques, two Temples, a Synagogue, five varieties of Reformed Christianity, a large multi-cultural Roman Catholic parish and a parish of the Polish Mission.
Francis' recent media credits include The Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Express, The Independent, BBC Radio 4, BBC TV, and The Economist. He writes regularly for the religious and sector specialist press and lectures widely.
